Max level baldurs gate enhanced edition11/26/2022 ![]() ![]() Warhammers and flails are a good choice, there's a great warhammer near the start of BG1 and a great flail accesible early in BG2. Don't put any proficiency points into weapons clerics cant use since those will be lost forever once you dual-class. If you are going human and dual-classing there's really no reason to not start with the Berserker fighter kit (you lose the ability to put more than one point in ranged weapons but that doesnt matter and the berserker ability is incredibly powerful, especially in BG1) and then dual classing to cleric, either at level 9 or at level 13 in BG 2 (9 for max HP or wait to 13 for an extra ½ attack per round, don't recommend dual-classing in bg1 since you can't hit level 7 for the first extra ½ attack and still have enough XP to hit cleric 8 and get fighter abilities back before the end of the game). Any other suitable bits ?Ĭlick to expand.Fighter-Cleric is best since in the Enhanced Editions fixed the exploit that let you get access all druid spells as well as all cleric spells as a Ranger-Druid. My aim is to stick to default lore, but I'm not against a little additional fun and comfort. ![]() But wouldn't that mean I'll have to go without thieving skills for a good while as Imoen levels in mage ?ģ/ More generally, if I want to see a fair breadth of companions people like (but not too many, heh), is there a good approach ? I seem to remember that *all* companions automatically level as the PC does, so it might be feasible to have a fair bit of rotation in the party so I can spend enough times with multiple companions and get a good sense of them ?Īnd wouldn't letting characters level "on their own" have bad effects on their build ? I don't remember.Ĥ/ In terms of mods I am considering Chatty Imoen, Baldur Gate 2 UI and Unfinished Business. I'm considering dualling Imoen to mage at level 6 (since apparently it's the classic approach), a 2H sword Minsc, and a longsword Khalid (if he isn't rotated out). ![]() Still, there's a possibility for rotating him out after a while for a character who better matches the "memorable, popular and interesting" criteria. is a 6-person party a problem when it comes to reaching the experience cap for BG1 ? That used to be an issue, but doesn't seem to be anymore (again, assuming an up-to-date Enhanced Edition). Therefore, I *think* that I am mechanically ending with the canon party - Imoen, Minsc, Dynaheir, Jaheira, Khalid. I'm also angling toward the better-known companions, since these are the ones the readers want to see. Apparently the second used to have better synergy, but it may no longer be the case in an up-to-date Enhanced Edition game ? Both fit the character concept, but I wouldn't be against a bit of charop so I don't lose time to the tougher battles (again, limited time).įor a ranger/cleric or fighter/cleric, what's the sweet spot to switch ? Keeping in mind the character will eventually do BG1.5 and BG2.Ģ/ My personal preference goes toward a good-aligned party. Playing a game while taking a tonne of notes and writing full character profiles with RPG stats and doing screenshot takes a wee bit of time, y'see.ġ/ For the PC, I'm considering a human fighter/cleric or ranger/cleric. And I'll only have the time for one thorough playthrough, so I need to reduce the amount of time spent flailing around and restarting. Howbeit, I haven't touched the game since. Possibly profiles for the cooler NPCs and monsters.Individual profiles for the more memorable, popular, interesting companions.A fleshed out Player Character so there's a point of view to present the story. So I'm *considering* starting a similar work on the first Baldur's Gate, using the Enhanced Edition. Please feel free to regularly link to them as you find them.My work on the isometric Fallout games is reaching an end ( sample Vault Dweller profile, sample Chosen One profile (first 2 parts out of 6 published)). Guides/walkthroughs, Let's Plays, something else. There is nothing new about the iOS/Mac version project to release a week late and the Android version releasing sometime in December.Īlso, I am sure there will be a number of sites with non-review-type updates. Please do not reply with links to articles detailing delay announcements unless they are definitely new. If you find an article not included on the list please reply with a link to let me know and I will add it to the list. TouchGen (iOS) - 4.5/5 (link currently broken) Softpedia (PC) - 8/10 (Gameplay footage: Black Pits, Beregost+) All articles are provided in alphabetical order by the name of the website to avoid any bias. To avoid drowning the subreddit in links to every single article, I will attempt to keep a running list of articles for easy reference. With the release of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition practically here, reviews and "first looks" on BG:EE are going to be cropping up everywhere. ![]()
